Roberto Piatti

Roberto Piatti is born in Turin the 29th July 1961. Since University time he collaborated with the magazine “Auto & Design” as a contributing editor. He has written several books focusing on cars and he was involved in many design projects, also contributing every week for the motor section of the newspaper “La Stampa”.

After the degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico of Turin, he started his career in I.DE.A Institute as project leader reaching repentinely the title of Automotive Project Manager. In this position he acquired the first experiences in emerging markets such as China, India and South America.

In 1996 he entered STILE BERTONE where since 1998 has covered the position of Managing Director. In “BERTONE” he brought innovation and development of structure and range of products, realising projects such as Filo (2001), Novanta (2002) the technology “drive by wire” and the architecture concept expressed in “Villa” (2005).

The great love for sailing has influenced also his career, translating the experience acquired in automotive sector to the naval and aeronautics ones.

In 2006 he established TORINO DESIGN, the new Design Centre that gathers together a task force of experts in the field of design, engineering and development of car models and industrial design.
